Scanmark LTD announces the availability of its new ESI/E-Discovery services for attorney and judicial use. The cloud based, open source solution provides a cost efficient means to review and categorize large data sets using well respected Hadoop clusters.
Mark Starcher, president of Scanmark LTD, is teaching a series of classes on secure web development for the University of Maryland University System. The online classes, which begin in June, will focus on secure code development and testing for web applications.
The use of ‘air fiber’ (high-speed directed wifi) has allowed West Liberty University to upgrade and expand internet connectivity on its Main and Highlands campuses. The air fiber system uses high gain antennas in lieu of copper or fiber connections and ties into the existing Open Mesh network currently being used.
Scanmark is currently working with two government client to provide Mesh network wifi access to learning facilities and government offices where traditional wired internet access is restricted. The goal is to extend or throw current bandwidth already being used by an entity to areas that would benefit from wifi access. Among other services, Scanmark is currently exploring the use of OpenMesh appliances.
Scanmark LTD is working with West Liberty University to move public facing applications to cloud-based platforms. The University has successfully migrated its Learning Management System to the cloud and is examining other functions that may lend themselves to a multi-tenancy environment.
The West Virginia State Bar is using a new membership management program developed by Scanmark LTD based upon the CiviCRM framework. The application, which was developed over the past year, went live in June and provides payment and membership updating services.
Scanmark LTD was invited to the az16 conference “Software Eats DC” held on May 9. The conference features start up ventures that provide a variety of services ranging from cybersecurity/malware detection to cloud computing, big data solutions and mobile access to information.
Scanmark LTD is currently beta testing a new business process management system that will allow institutions of higher learning the ability to streamline current business practices such as purchase orders, expense forms and vacation requests. The software framework is based on the open source application Processmaker and is running in development and production modes via virtualized servers. Scanmark LTD is developing a dashboard of key academic indicators for an academic institution in Northern West Virginia. The dashboard captures key performance indicators including financial results, class and teacher loads, academic testing results and scholarship and grant information. The dashboard is being used by the University as part of its forward looking strategic planning.
